The Orphanage was established over 82 years ago. It began in 1932 when the esteemed Mr. Mattos, owner of the Casa Mattos Paper Store, founded a "shelter" to provide support to children - some the children of his own employees - and others abandoned by their parents. Read more here ...

Today the Orphanage is run by Franciscan Nuns from the Order of Our Lady of Good Counsel now 161 years old as of 2014! Read more here ...
